Is it safe to put filament in the oven?

Ovens are not recommended for drying filament, however it still can be done with caution. Convection ovens work very well as they constantly circulate hot air around the spool.

Why does my 3D printer filament keep breaking?

PLA can become brittle if it’s exposed to moisture since it’s a hygroscopic filament, meaning that it absorbs moisture, but being exposed to UV radiation (sun light) will damage it even more, making it lose its color and become brittle, weak, and easy to snap. To avoid this, proper storage is recommended.

How do you dry a filament in a dehydrator?
