Is BLTouch accurate?

The BLTouch is a sensor for automatic print bed leveling. A Hall sensor is triggered by an electromagnetic field as soon as the sensor pin moves back into the housing by touching the print bed. It is extremely accurate with a repeatability of about 0.001 mm.

Is BLTouch better than CR-Touch?

The CR-Touch is slightly more accurate than the BL-Touch. The metallic sensor pin of the CR-Touch cannot collide with the print bed because it is always automatically retracted. The CR-Touch has an optical sensor that is not as sensitive to external interference as the Hall sensor in the BL-Touch.

What is inside a BLTouch?

It consists of a microcontroller, a solenoid switch, and a pushpin probe that comes into contact with the bed. The original BLTouch uses a Hall sensor for high accuracy, and this sensor, in conjunction with the physical pushpin, is what allows it to be used with many bed types.

Is CR-Touch firmware same as BLTouch?

CR-Touch is Creality’s latest self-developed auto-leveling upgrade kit. Sharing the same firmware as the popular BL-Touch Kit, the CR-Touch is easy to install and configure.
