Is SLA resin cancerous?

Long-term effects from working with resins are rare but not unheard of. If you work around these fumes for extended periods, it could cause lasting issues with your respiratory system. Some of the VOCs resins emit are suspected carcinogens, so there’s a chance they could cause cancer after prolonged exposure.

Is SLA resin harmful?

Resins also naturally give off fumes, and unless you work in a well-ventilated area, molecules from the fumes will get into your lungs and cause irritation there, too. Harmful when exposed to eyes or ingested: Never let resin near or into your eyes or mouth unless they’re specifically marked as non-toxic.

Cured UV resin is non-toxic and even food safe. The liquid toxins are now hard and can no longer penetrate the skin. However, UV light can also decompose hard synthetic resin.

However once epoxy is fully cured for 30 days, it is an inert plastic and should be fine for incidental exposure to food. It is not antimicrobial. Epoxy is not safe to ingest (liquid or cured). Do not cut on or prepare raw food on epoxy surfaces.”

Is Envirotex Lite food safe?

Yes, you can use it for serving trays and of course table tops and bar counters. “Envirotex Lite has been approved for “limited” food contact, that means surfaces such as serving trays, counter, table and bar tops, etc., but not the interior of cups, dishes where food maybe heated or stored.”
